I saw this guy on Chelsea Lately
Body Confidence by Mark MacDonald www.harpercollins.com/books/Body-Confidence-Mark-MacDonald/?isbn=9780062083883 Instead of focusing on a diet, this nutrionist, wants us to eat small meals throughout the day to keep our energy and blood sugar up. He believes we can reprogram our metabolism by eating the right percentage of protein, fat & carbs and that we should focus on body fat percentage not weight. We've heard all this before but this has it all in one place. This could be a good book for us all to use as our "text book". What do you think?

This is the second time I had to type this up....so annoying...
ReplyDeleteSo I didn't work out today or yesterday since I had to be up by 5 to get to work on time, but that's probably better since my back needed a rest. It has been KILLING me the past two days. Apparently when you take 6 months off from exercising then work out two days in a row there is going to be a little soreness. Oops.
Today I had a 2 egg omelette with turkey sausage, broccoli, cheese, and a dallop of sour cream. Lunch was two turkey burger patties with a red bell pepper & a slice of cheese. Dinner was a chicken breast with a cream cheese sauce and a red bell pepper. Snacks today were two handfuls of almonds, cheese, and a couple beef sticks (sort of like jerkey). OH and of course a huge iced coffee - no sugar with cream.
I would be willing to read this book, Suz but it depends on what it recommends we eat. I can't start eating whole grains and bread.
Remember I follow a modified Atkins diet to help control my seizures. I've been doing it for three years and have stuck to it. So if I can follow the program without compromising that - I'm all for it!
Have a great Thursday! I'm going to the gym tomorrow before work so I hope my back is better. Jeez I'm getting old.
I forgot to type everything I ate yesterday -
ReplyDeletebkfast - two egg omelette w/turkey sausage, cheese, broccoli, sour cream
lunch- burger patty w/cheese, little mayo & a caesar salad
dinner - I didn't really have dinner...lunch was late so I sort of snacked on almonds and had a beef stick before the performance.
No gym yesterday but I am going today!! YAY!!!!
